Privacy Policy
This policy explains what GetNixa ("we", "us"), run by [Company legal name], collects when you use our website, web app, desktop apps and editor plugins (together, the "Service"), why we collect it, and the choices you have. It is written to meet India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act) and the Information Technology Act, 2000 and its rules.
1. What we collect

We do not collect sensitive data such as government IDs, health or financial account details, and we ask you not to upload them.
2. Consent and legal basis
We process your personal data with your consent, which you give when you create an account and accept this policy, and for uses the DPDP Act allows without separate consent, such as meeting legal obligations. You can withdraw consent at any time by deleting your account or writing to privacy@getnixa.com. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing already done, and some features will stop working.
3. How we process Your Content
- Speech-to-text, translation, masking and audio cleaning run on our own AI models on our cloud servers. We do not send Your Content to third-party AI services.
- We do not use Your Content to train or improve AI models, and we do not look at it, except when you ask us for help or the law requires it.
- Our computers work through Your Content automatically only to deliver the features you use.
4. Who processes data for us
We use trusted service providers ("data processors"). Each one gets only what it needs, under contract:

Some processing happens outside India. We transfer data only to countries the Government of India has not restricted, and we protect it as described here. We share data with authorities only when the law requires it.
5. How long we keep data
- Free plan: uploaded videos are deleted automatically 7 days after upload. Projects (captions and styles) stay until you delete them.
- Paid plans: uploads and projects stay while your account is active and within your plan's storage.
- Exports and temporary files: deleted automatically within 7 days.
- After you delete your account: we erase your personal data and content within 30 days. We keep billing records for 8 years because tax law requires it.
6. Your rights
Under the DPDP Act you can:
- ask for a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how we process it;
- correct, complete or update it;
- have it erased, unless we must keep it by law;
- nominate someone to use these rights for you if you die or become unable to;
- complain to our Grievance Officer and, if you're not satisfied, to the Data Protection Board of India.
Most of this you can do yourself in the app (download your projects, delete projects, delete your account). For anything else, write to privacy@getnixa.com. We reply within 30 days.
7. Security
Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest with our storage providers. Access is limited to the few people who need it to run the Service, and uploads are private to your account. No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects you, we will tell you and the Data Protection Board as the law requires.
8. Cookies and local storage
We use your browser's or app's local storage to keep you signed in, save your projects on your device and remember your settings.
On our website, blog and web app we use Google Analytics to understand how many people visit, which pages they read and how they found us. It sets its own cookies and collects things like pages viewed, device and browser type, approximate location (city level) and how you arrived. We do not send your videos, captions or email address to Google Analytics, and we do not use advertising cookies. You can block these cookies in your browser settings or with Google's opt-out add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
9. Children
The Service is for people aged 18 and over. People under 18 may use it only with verifiable consent from a parent or lawful guardian. We do not knowingly track or target ads at children.
10. Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we'll tell you by email or in the app before they take effect. The date at the top shows the latest version.
